The Ancient Theater of Kourion was built in the 2nd century BC and significantly expanded during the Roman period (2nd-3rd century AD). It could seat up to 3,500 spectators. The theater was destroyed by earthquakes in the 4th century AD but was partially restored in the 20th century.
